When Quality and Effective Communication are Baked Into the Process

Posted on Sun, Dec 08, 2013 @ 06:00 AM

I consider myself somewhat unique at 5AM in that I work remotely and I'm quality assurance focused. Being involved in this domain I enjoy knowing that I'm making a difference in lives through something I love doing. I also enjoy working at 5AM because we have a culture of quality. Our process and the people that make the process work are focused on improvement.

Testing is baked into the process, actively practiced, and improved. That includes customer interaction, transparency and honesty to each other, and ultimately our software implementation. Working remotely has unique challenges but it seems natural and effortless when everyone is committed to make it work. I never feel that I'm not part of a team. 5AM has made efforts to be inclusive with small things like resources being accessible or company meetings being broadcast on a regular basis. Not all our customers are local so being able to practice and become experts at effectively communicating benefits everyone.
